Easy Practices to Manage Anxiety Daily

Anxiety is a normal part of life, but when it feels unmanageable, small daily practices can help you regain control. From an AEDP perspective, anxiety often arises when we feel disconnected, either from ourselves or from others. The key to managing it is to restore that sense of connection.

Here are some easy practices:

  1. Grounding Exercise
Pause and notice five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste. This simple exercise can bring you back to the present moment.

  2. Mindful Breathing
Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and focus on the sensation of air entering and leaving your body.

  3. Self-Compassion Breaks
When anxiety strikes, remind yourself: "It’s okay to feel this way. I’m here for myself."

  4. Movement
Take a short walk or stretch your body. Physical activity helps release tension.

Therapy can help you understand the roots of your anxiety, turning it into a guide for deeper emotional growth.
